How much does a professional radiofrequency machine cost?

What makes the price change, what to ask before buying a cheap machine and how to work out how long it takes to pay for itself in your centre.

Smart RF Pro professional radiofrequency machine

The short answer

The price of a professional radiofrequency machine depends on which frequencies it works with, whether it is for facial, body or both, and what comes with it: handpieces, training, warranty and technical service.

That is why two machines that look the same in a photo can have very different prices. Rather than comparing figures, compare what you can treat with each one and how many months it takes to pay for itself with your sessions.

Setting up your centre? Here is what equipment you need to open a beauty centre.

What makes the price change

Eight points to compare quotes fairly.

1Frequencies

Each frequency reaches a different depth. On the face, 2 MHz works the surface layer and 1 MHz the deep dermis; on the body, 720 kHz is used for cellulite and 470 kHz for fatty tissue.

2Facial, body or both

A facial-only machine costs less than one with facial and body handpieces, but it also gives you fewer treatments to sell.

3Handpieces and electrodes

The number of electrodes and the size of the handpiece decide whether you can treat large areas such as the abdomen or thighs in a reasonable time.

4Temperature control

A temperature sensor tells you when the skin reaches working temperature. That means more safety for the client and more consistent results.

5Combined technologies

Some machines are radiofrequency only and others combine it with vacuum, light or ultrasound. A multifunctional machine costs more, but replaces several machines.

6Training and protocols

Knowing which frequency, how long and which cosmetics to use in each case is what turns the machine into results. Ask whether training is included.

7Technical service and spare parts

Find out who repairs the machine, how long it takes and whether replacement handpieces are readily available.

8Warranty

Compare how long the warranty lasts and exactly what it covers. A reseller warranty is not the same as a manufacturer warranty.

Before you buy a cheap radiofrequency machine

Some very cheap radiofrequency devices are designed for home use and sold as professional. They do not have the same power or temperature control, and they cannot keep up with the workload of a beauty centre.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a professional radiofrequency machine cost?

It depends on the frequencies it uses, whether it is facial, body or both, temperature control and what is included: training, warranty and technical service. At Enco we will prepare a no-obligation quote for the Smart RF Pro.

Is a cheap radiofrequency machine worth it?

Many cheap devices are designed for home use: they cannot keep up with a beauty centre and do not control skin temperature. Before you buy, ask which frequencies it uses, who repairs it and what warranty it has.

How long does it take to pay off a radiofrequency machine?

It depends on what you charge per session and how many sessions you do each week. Use the calculator in this guide with your own numbers.

Can I finance it or rent it?

Financing and renting are available for self-employed professionals and companies. Ask us whether they are available in your country and we will explain the terms with your quote for the Smart RF Pro.

Which radiofrequency frequency is best?

It depends on the area and the goal. On the face, 2 MHz works the surface layer and 1 MHz the deep dermis. On the body, 1 MHz firms, 720 kHz works cellulite and 470 kHz fatty tissue. That is why a multifrequency machine lets you offer more treatments.

Radiofrequency only, or a multifunctional machine?

If you want a machine dedicated to facial and body radiofrequency, the Smart RF Pro. If you prefer to combine it with vacuum and light in the same treatment, the Unik Bella, and if you also want ultrasound and endermology, the Dermajet Unik.
